Conti Federal Services is currently constructing a $10.2 million contract for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Japan District to convert Building 2860 at Camp Hansen, Okinawa into a secure facility. This project reflects Conti Federal’s expertise in military and secure construction, delivering ICD 705-compliant spaces to support mission-critical operations for the United States Marine Corps.

Camp Hansen, home to approximately 6,000 Marines, is a strategically important installation situated near the northern shore of Kin Bay in Okinawa. Originally built on the site of the former Chimu Airfield, the base has played a vital role in Marine Corps operations since its establishment in 1965. Building 2860, constructed in 1995 by the Government of Japan, is now undergoing a major renovation to meet modern security and operational requirements.

The project will transform the existing structure to incorporate secure, ICD 705-compliant spaces. The renovation will ensure that the facility meets stringent security, environmental, and operational standards while integrating modernized mechanical, electrical, and communication systems to enhance functionality.

As part of the project, Conti Federal is leveraging its deep experience in secure facility construction to mitigate logistical challenges associated with working on an active military installation in Okinawa’s unique climate and operational environment. Coordination with base personnel, security teams, and government agencies is key to ensuring that construction progresses efficiently while maintaining mission readiness at Camp Hansen.

Upon completion, the newly secured Building 2860 will provide an enhanced operational environment for Marine Corps personnel, ensuring they have the facilities necessary to conduct secure training, planning, and operations in the Indo-Pacific region.

Conti Federal continues to support the ever evolving needs of the Department of Defense in the Pacific as an awardee to the $990M Indo-Pacific Multiple Award Construction Contract (MACC) by NAVFAC Pacific and the $495M Design Build Design Bid Build MATOC by USACE Honolulu. Backed by a multinational presence, Conti Federal is uniquely prepared to deliver mission-critical infrastructure solutions wherever the U.S. federal government operates.
