Conti Federal is currently constructing a state-of-the-art Special Operations Forces (SOF) Special Tactics Operations Facility at Hurlburt Field Air Force Base. This project involves the demolition of outdated infrastructure and the construction of a 103,700-square-foot facility designed to meet the evolving operational and security needs of the Department of Defense. The new facility will provide modernized spaces for critical mission functions while incorporating high-performance and sustainable building practices.

The facility will feature a robust structural design, including a foundation and floor slab, structural framing, insulated walls, sloped roofs, environmental control systems, and advanced fire detection and suppression systems. Inside, the space is carefully planned to support a variety of operational requirements. Administrative areas will house command, operations, logistics, secure planning, training, simulators, weather monitoring, intelligence, and mission support functions. Additionally, specialized team rooms will accommodate individual gear storage, weapons and armory, radios, computers, medical logistics, and war readiness materials. The facility also includes dedicated areas for vehicle and watercraft maintenance, a dive shop, and covered storage.
Beyond the main building, the project incorporates several mission-critical features that will enhance training and operational capabilities. A concrete hardstand will support heavy equipment staging and maneuvering, while a rappelling tower will provide an essential training environment for special tactics teams. An antenna platform will further enhance the facility’s ability to support specialized communication and intelligence functions.

The project requires extensive site development to ensure seamless integration with base operations. Conti Federal is installing new utility infrastructure, including water, sewer, storm drainage, natural gas, electrical, and communications systems. Roadways, parking areas, and a marshalling yard will support personnel and mission-critical equipment movement. Additionally, passive force protection measures have been incorporated into the site’s design to enhance security.

Sustainability and resilience are key priorities for this project. The facility is being built in accordance with Department of Defense High-Performance and Sustainable Building Requirements, integrating Low Impact Development (LID) features to minimize environmental impact. Energy efficiency, durability, and operational effectiveness have been carefully considered throughout the design and construction process.
Security features were designed and constructed to meet the needs of this unique structure, incorporating blast-resistant structural elements and physical security enhancements to safeguard personnel and assets. Additionally, advanced cybersecurity measures are being implemented to protect facility-related control systems in compliance with current DoD security regulations.

Throughout the project, Conti Federal has maintained close coordination with base personnel to minimize disruptions to Air Force operations. By leveraging extensive expertise in high-security, mission-critical construction, Conti Federal is ensuring that the Special Tactics Operations Facility will provide elite SOF personnel with a cutting-edge environment to train, operate, and sustain global missions.
