Conti Federal was awarded a contract to renovate the Joint Intelligence Center, Building 639, at Naval Air Station II Sigonella in Sicily, Italy in September 2022.

Awarded by Jacobs Engineering and the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Europe Africa Central (EURAFCENT) out of Naples, Italy, this project is expected to be completed in August 2024. The project includes the reconfiguration and renovation of the ground and first floors to provide a modern and contiguous space for Commander Task Force 67 Operations. The estimated square footage is 50,000 square feet interior and 35,000 square feet exterior.

This project will support the Joint Intelligence Center and consist of but not limited to: major electrical upgrades (capacity, generator(s) replacement, light fixtures (interior and exterior), lighting protection system, and building grounding system); elevators (control system replacement and interior finishes replacement); fire protection system (installation of smoke detection system and replacement of sprinkler system); mechanical systems (HVAC upgrades, Variable Air Volume (VAV) air handling unit upgrade, VAV boxes (with hot water reheat, boilers, pumps, ductwork, piping, controls) and plumbing); building roof replacement; and the demo/movement/repair/replacement of interior/exterior finishes and interior/exterior door frames.
