Scope
Conti Federal constructed critical infrastructure in support of satellite communications operations in Brussels, Belgium. This project, awarded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Europe District, enables the installation of communications equipment, representing a strategic investment in Allied mission readiness.
The project site was uniquely constrained, providing only 10-15 meters of working space. This environment demanded meticulous planning, coordination, and unwavering attention to public safety.
Conti Federal delivered design-build services for custom foundations and external electrical infrastructure tailored to end user operational requirements. This included leading design charrettes and reviews to ensure structural adequacy for local environmental and wind load conditions, supporting the future antenna tower installation.
Comprehensive safety protocols were developed and implemented, including hazard-controlled tree removal and designated pedestrian pathways. Organizational leadership recognized Conti Federal’s commitment to stakeholder communication and responsiveness throughout project execution.
In addition to meeting U.S. federal construction standards, the project complied with stringent Belgian regulations, including permitting through the Flemish Region. The Conti Federal team navigated the multilingual regulatory environment by translating technical documentation into French, Dutch, and English, ensuring full compliance and seamless collaboration with local authorities.
This project highlights Conti Federal’s continued support of the USACE Europe District’s mission including an $8.2 million design-build task order contract for the repair and renovation of Special Operations Forces (SOF) Barracks Building 8234 at Smith Barracks, U.S. Army Garrison (USAG) Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany and a $65.8M contract for the construction of Secure Site Annexes in Baumholder, Germany.
Conti Federal delivers secure, mission-critical facilities in highly sensitive environments, balancing international regulatory compliance, stakeholder engagement, and a commitment to Done Once, Done Right execution.
