Conti Federal Breaks Ground on Secure Site Annexes in Baumholder, Germany

Project supports relocation of US Special Operations Command units

Conti Federal Services, a leading construction and engineering firm for the U.S. federal government specializing in military and secure construction, joined members of the U.S. Army Garrison (USAG) Rheinland-Pfalz, Baumholder and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Europe District for an official groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of four Secure Site Annexes in Baumholder, Germany.

Conti Federal was awarded the $65.8M contract in June 2024 by USACE Europe district. This mission-critical project will provide operational facilities for the relocation of U.S. Special Operations Forces (SOF) Command units to Smith Barracks USAG Baumholder, one of the largest military training areas in Germany. The new facilities will assist in the planning and execution of SOF in the U.S. Europe Command (USEUCOM) and U.S. Africa Command (USAFRICOM).

The event concluded with a ceremonial groundbreaking by senior leaders, including: Colonel Higgins, commander of USAG Rheinland-Pfalz; Colonel Kent, USACE Europe District; Brigadier General Lloyd, Commander and Division Engineer of the North Atlantic Division; Colonel Murphy, U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) Engineer; and Conti Federal COO, Lou Zecca.
