Conti Federal Services is delighted to announce that Laura Tobin has accepted the role of Vice President, Environmental Business Line Leader. In this position, Laura will head our environmental remediation construction services, applying her more than 25 years of experience delivering success with complex projects for public and private sector clients as well as with developing skilled technical teams to meet business objectives and strategic pillars.

Evaluating, managing, and resolving the environmental and health risks posed by contaminated soil and groundwater, Laura possesses the experience and know-how to help us realize growth in this increasingly important field through innovation both in data gathering and leading-edge remediation strategies. She coordinates the environmental business lines across all end markets and districts while ensuring the client and project objectives remain firmly the focus of our efforts.

Prior to joining Conti Federal, Laura was Vice President of Civil Engineering for WSP USA, where she supervised their environmental business unit in the Texas-Mountain Region and oversaw strategic growth, project delivery, profit and loss, client service, technical excellence, and business development. Laura also served internally as Practice Leader for WSP USA’s Western Region Site Assessment and Remediation Team. Her previous roles also include over six years as Project Director and Staff Geologist for Environmental Strategies Consulting and nearly two years as Ecology/Hydrology Field Scientist for the Center for Forested Wetlands Research, where as a member of an interdisciplinary forested wetlands hydrology, ecology, biology, and soils research team she conducted field work in biomass estimation.

Laura is a professional geologist with extensive knowledge of Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology and a Master of Science Degree in Environmental Science – Hydrology, in which she focused her research in vadose zone hydrology, stormwater transport and runoff, and water quality.
