Conti Federal Celebrates Construction Milestone for F-35A Flight Simulator Facility in Fort Worth

Conti Federal Services a leading U.S. government construction and engineering firm specializing in military and secure construction, held a topping off ceremony on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base (NAS JRB) in Fort Worth, Texas.

Awarded in September 2021 by the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Southeast (NAVFAC SE), the $24,307,063 project includes an F-35A flight simulator facility and a squadron operations/aircraft maintenance unit facility in support of the 301st Fighter Wing.

The topping off ceremony, which celebrated the last structural beam placed on the building, brought together representatives from Conti Federal, NAVFAC SE, as well as Benjamin Harrison, Commander, 301st Fighter Wing, Air Force Reserve Command, and Colonel Allen Duckworth, Vice Commander, Tenth Air Force. This milestone was commemorated with the signing of the beam by those working on the project, along with a tree placement on the beam that signifies the building has reached its final height.

“The topping off ceremony is a milestone that I look forward to celebrating on our projects,” said Christopher Conerly, Conti Federal Project Executive. “This milestone is the end of one phase, but also the beginning of another, and having this ceremony with our partners and client at the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base makes it even more special because of the pivotal role it plays in training and equipping our nation’s air crews and aviation ground support personnel.”

Once completed, this project will include a 20,000-square-foot flight simulator facility building and a 33,729-square-foot squadron operations/aircraft maintenance unit building, that will each contain secure and unsecured areas.

Conti Federal is also concurrently working on another project at NAS JRB Fort Worth in support of the 301st Fighter Wing and the F-35 aircraft, which includes building renovations of Air Force Maintenance Hangar Building #1643. These projects will join Conti Federal’s extensive catalog of complex military construction projects that the firm has successfully completed with NAVFAC.
