Conti Federal Services, a leading global construction and engineering firm specializing in military and secure construction, is pleased to announce the completion of the renovation of Maintenance Hangar Building #1643 at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base (NASJRB) Fort Worth, Texas.
Awarded by the United States Air Force (USAF), this project is a significant achievement for the 301st Fighter Wing, which transitioned from supporting the F16 Fighter Falcon to the F35A Lightning II. Conti Federal constructed this project through a phased approach, coordinating with the NASJRB to simultaneously accommodate building occupants. The project is one of three (3) projects Conti Federal is executing on base.
The renovation of Building #1643 has transformed the facility into a critical asset for the 301st Fighter Wing. It enhances the functionality and safety of the maintenance hangar and supports NASJRB Fort Worth’s long-term operational needs.
“Conti Federal diligently executed the Maintenance Hangar Building #1643 renovation, marking a significant milestone for our company and the 301st Fighter Wing,” said Christopher Conerly, Project Executive at Conti Federal. “This renovation not only enhances the efficiency and safety of the hangar but also reinforces NASJRB Fort Worth’s ability to support the next generation of aircraft. Our team is honored to continue our commitment to delivering high-quality infrastructure for the United States Air Force.”
The project included constructing a Communications Room, Utility Room, Egress Shop, Break Room, and a Fire Suppression Room. The scope of work involved demolition, construction, and renovation of the B1643 Maintenance Hangar while meeting strict ICD-705 requirements. Conti Federal performed the electrical demolition and upgrades of lighting and power in the hangar, demolition of partition walls, demolition and replacement of floor and wall tiles, exterior doors, and overhead coiling doors. Our team also performed demolition and replacement of existing plumbing fixtures, break room sink and associated piping, domestic water and vent piping, and waste piping.
To minimize waste, the project team salvaged an existing fan coil unit, brand selector box, and floor-mounted unit for reinstallation. The team also performed HVAC activities, including relocating existing and installing new ductwork, mini-split AC units, and an air intake damper to sustain environmental control. Exterior work included pavement removal for new sanitary utilities trench, installation of a 6-inch polyvinyl chloride (PVC) sanitary sewer, and boring new communications and electrical lines.
Conti Federal is also constructing a F-35A Flight Simulator Facility and Squadron Operations/ Aircraft Maintenance Facility at NASJRB Fort Worth as well as renovating a critical loading dock on base under CF2 Construction, LLC – a mentor-protégé partnership between Conti Federal Services and Cherokee Nation Environmental Services.
