Conti Federal Awarded KC-46A Bed-Down Project Located in the State of Israel

Contract supports the planned deployment of Boeing KC-46 Pegasus aerial refueling tankers

Conti Federal Services, a leading federal construction and design-build firm specializing in military construction and critical infrastructure, has been awarded a $62M contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Middle East District to construct infrastructure to support the KC-46A Bed-Down in Israel.

The project will include the construction of five new steel and concrete structures in support of the KC-46A bed-down site. The scope encompasses aviation storage, maintenance facilities, supporting infrastructure, and site development to enhance operational capability and readiness.

The KC-46A is a highly advanced, multirole aerial refueling aircraft based on the Boeing 767-200ER, designed to support both passenger and cargo transport while offering robust aerial refueling capabilities. Compared to the 50-year-old KC-135, the KC-46A offers greater fuel capacity, improved operational efficiency, and enhanced cargo and aeromedical evacuation capabilities.

“Operating in austere and logistically complex environments is where Conti Federal excels,” said Mike Sziy, Vice President and Regional Manager for Israel. “This award reinforces our longstanding partnership with the USACE Middle East District and reflects our proven ability to deliver critical infrastructure with precision, even under the most challenging conditions.”

The project is expected to be completed in July 2028.

Conti Federal is currently constructing a pier for the Israeli Navy  and has recently completed multiple F-35 Hardened Aircraft Shelters in Israel. For details about Conti Federal’s ongoing work with USACE and other government agencies globally, visit https://www.contifederal.com/projects.
