This $42.6 million design-build project will transform the existing two-story structure into a modern Formal Training Unit (FTU) facility capable of supporting advanced Department of the Air Force mission requirements.

The scope of the project includes interior demolition to substantially reconfigure and renovate the building to meet ICD/ICS 705, DoD, Air Force, and base design standards. The project also includes sitework and communications infrastructure to support all DRP facilities planned at Grand Forks AFB.

Scope of Work:

  • Reinforced concrete foundation and structural steel framing.
  • Steel stud wall construction and standing seam metal roofing.
  • Mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) system upgrades to meet current codes and improve operational resilience.
  • Facility improvements to maintain uninterrupted Formal Training Unit operations in the event of a disaster affecting other facilities or installations.

Conti Federal is currently working on several key projects in collaboration with the USACE Omaha District. These include the development of a B-21 RF Hangar Facility at Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota, a helicopter facility at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and an F-35 Fighter Alert Shelter at Truax Field in Madison, Wisconsin.
