As of December 2019, Conti Federal Services’s Chief Financial Officer Ellen Stickna marked 20 years with Conti, helping the company achieve its goals of cost-efficiency and long-term, client-driven, organic growth. Ms. Stickna began work with Conti supporting VendQuest, an early dot-com venture that provided a marketplace for repair and maintenance parts for heavy equipment. Recognizing her talents, Kurt Conti invited Ms. Stickna to help manage Conti’s highly successful cost-reimbursable projects for the US government. Then, in 2004, Ms. Stickna was instrumental in helping Conti launch the JD Edwards accounting system. In this role, Ms. Stickna joined the accounting group and resolved various reconciliation issues, helped manage Conti’s insurance risks, and ensured best accounting practices were implemented company wide. She assumed the role of Controller in 2011 where she was instrumental in shepherding the sale of Conti Solar. Most recently, Ms. Stickna has been a key member of the Conti Federal Services leadership team, where she works with to help grow our services sustainably.
“Helping with the operations side of our business is something I really enjoy,” says Ms. Stickna. “Whether that’s lending a hand on a cost proposal or giving my input on strategy, I like to contribute that added value in everything I do.” She adds, “We were a unique company when I joined, and we’re still unique. It’s a large part of why I’ve stayed as long as I have. And after 20 years I’m still looking forward to seeing where we can take the company next.”
